Jan Pascal Göbel

Jan Göbel has been a research associate and doctoral student in the Perception and Action Lab since April 2025. His research focuses on proactive strategies to strengthen public support for climate action and reactive approaches to reduce the impact of climate misinformation. A particular focus is on the medium of video. As part of his dissertation, he is investigating how proactive and reactive strategies can be combined to minimize the impact of misinformation. The aim is to develop a deeper understanding of how beliefs about climate change are formed in information environments characterized by disinformation. Another research focus is on the risks of artificial intelligence, in particular the development of risk models and mitigation strategies.

Jan Göbel studied Business Psychology at Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences (B.Sc., 2022). He completed his Master's degree at the University of Tübingen in the field of cognitive science (M.Sc., 2025).
